Changing Nations? Me?

A lot has happened to me recently and I suddenly find people asking to use my writing skills and referring to me as a ‘writer’. (For those of you who have done this, my sincere thanks go out to you!) This has been a long time coming and it’s taken a lot of hard work, prayer and trust in God’s plans for my writing. I’ve been through lots of highs and lows, but the main thing I have focussed my thoughts on has been the confidence I’ve gained through the verse in Jeremiah which says: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares The Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope an a future.'” (Jeremiah 29:11)

I’m nobody special. I’m just me. But God has made me unique through the gifts and talents he has given me. He has helped me learn how to use them effectively to both fulfil my dreams, and the dreams that God has for me.
What I’ve come to realise is this:
ANYONE CAN KNOW GOD.
We simply have to open our hearts and trust that he’s there moving within us.
Even when it seems unlikely. ESPECIALLY when it seems unlikely.

We can know that God is moving in us to help us do great things when:
-we feel a quiet sense of peace
-we become uneasy about unjust situations
-we feel a deep sense of joy that is unconnected to our circumstances
-we are content despite our situation
-we feel that we know things will be ok; even though evidence suggests otherwise
-we start doing, saying and thinking things that take the stress out of a situation without even knowing we’re doing it.
GOD CAN USE US IN ALL SORTS OF WAYS.

The things that have happened to me recently got me thinking about David in the Bible and how he allowed God to help him achieve great things, all through his humility and faith. (For more on David’s story, watch this space!)
David was an ordinary person but God had a special plan for him. God used David to change a nation.
GOD HAS A SPECIAL PLAN FOR YOU, TOO.
God blessed him and walked with David through his life, through his good works and through his failures because DAVID YEARNED TO KNOW GOD. And if God could use an unknown shepherd boy to become the King of Israel, imagine what he can help you achieve!

You’re not a nobody.
YOU ARE GOD’S DREAM. DREAM WITH HIM.

  1. I would 100% class you as a writer – if not more. 🙂 Not long until all your hard will pay off. Even I feel like it won’t happen but things only fall into place when it’s written for you ❤
